Hi Leo - I knew you'd be in politics one day. I am so glad to see you going after what you are good at. I remember in high school, when you were our Class President, that you said you wanted to be in office some day:) You will make an excellent politician - show the people that politicians can be true and honest! Your dedication to serving the people of Oneida, and listening to their issues, will get you in office! You were just the same back in the old days (high school)! Glad to see a tiger doesn't change stripes. Good luck! T

Leo -

I think you did an awesome job as Mayor and can't wait to get you back! You really made a difference, especialy in regards to "quality of life" issues. AND, morale at City Hall was never higher then when you were there - you'd be amazed at how low it is now :(

PS> I'll call you to get a sign! See you in the office again soon!

Hi Mr. Matzke! I am so excited for you to be running for office again. The saying "becareful of what you wish for" is so true! The people asked for the new Mayor, got him and now it's time to get you back! Matzke For Mayor!!!!

PS> Where were Magliocca and MaGee when the flowers died this year, or when the rec budget was slashed and slashed again? I think it was more of a personal vendetta then actual issues - good job keeping it clean and respectful with them during the last election!

Hi - Soon to Be Mayor Again :) Who is in charge of taking care of down town? The grass is higher then ever, especialy with in the side walk cracks. The flowers died early then ever. There are lots of empty stores - way more then when you were Mayor. The over all atmosphere stinks and the energy is gone. People say down town is dying ....... but I think it can be made into a prosperous fun place to go. I believe it could be a little like Cazenovia, expecialy during the holidays. What things will you do to help revitalize down town when you are elected? Thanks!

Downtown looks aweful. It used to be the happening place growing up. Stores to shop in, restaurants to eat, activities to do. Now people and businesses are moving out of downtown and going up to Route 5 which makes that area so congested it takes three to four turns to get thru a light. It seems there is not much left on the north side except trouble. What happened to activities for our youth. Giving them something to do may keep them out of trouble and face it as kids it is just fun to have things to do and spend time with your friends. We used to roller skate, roller blade, have dances, attend the park program, go to the pool in the summer all day long at times. Now the hours of swimming and not feasible with work schedules to take your kids, you can't skate of the streets, kids get in trouble for skateboarding? Why? I thought this was suposed to be our community, why are kids not allowed to use public streets to skate and do athletic activities. We never had any issues growing up with this. And face it when teens do not have things to do the only thing left is to get into trouble finding things to entertain themselves and usually that is downtown at night with no supervision. We need to encourage participation in our city not discourage the growth and activity.
